Sadhguru, the renowned Indian yogi and mystic, is joining forces with Graphic India to bring to life an animated epic titled 'Shiva: The Adiyogi'. This ambitious project aims to retell the origin story of the Hindu God Shiva as the first yogi, marking a significant departure from the traditional portrayal of Shiva as a deity. The collaboration between Sadhguru and Graphic India, the creators of India's animated mythology franchise 'The Legend of Hanuman', promises to offer a unique and captivating perspective on ancient Hindu mythology. The film will explore the journey from before creation to the peaks of Kailash, delving into the rage of Veerabhadra, a being born from grief, and the devotion of two women whose bond keeps Shiva connected to existence. The climax of the film will feature a powerful scene at Kanti Sarovar where Shiva imparts 112 methods for transcending physical existence to seven seekers.
Sadhguru's involvement in the project adds a layer of spiritual and philosophical depth, as he emphasizes the idea that Shiva is not merely a god but the Adiyogi, the first yogi, and the Adiguru, the first guru. According to Sadhguru, Shiva introduced the concept that the laws of nature are not permanent restrictions but can be transcended through spiritual striving.
